Joining the bandwagon of Haus brand, is the new entrant, AnnaHaus delivering top notch South Indian food right to the comfort of your home. It’s everything you’d expect from the brand, stellar quality and nothing less.
Starting from the branding & packaging, it shouldn’t be a surprise that Anna Haus is just as articulate with it as it’s other branches. Spot on, neat and ergonomical.
Coming down to the exciting South Indian menu, there is a major coastal influence there and an elaborate offering of South Indian delicacies that go beyond the regular idly and dosa, so be prepared to be wowed, specially if you have a thing for that cuisine.
The starters are damn exciting but they’ll peak your curiousity at the same time.
Gunpowder Idli, Beetroot Vada, as vegetarian starters were delicious and rich with stark flavours.
Prawn Spring Rolls and Chorizo Pav were an absolute rich indulgence with bundles of flavours, greasy yes but oh so chunky and yummy.
The starters were plenty filling but being the glutton I am, I went ahead and treated myself to an even more elaborate feast with the mains.
Chicken Sukka & Lamb Curry were standouts, with perfumed flavours of mustard and curry patta throughout, these dishes went perfectly with buttery malabari Parantha, rather luxurious and calorific but worth every bit.
They also do a superb Brown Rice Biryani which I absolutely loved. For those who want a bit of flavour with a dose of health, this is perfect. Mildly spiced and earthy, I had the Chicken biryani and it was pretty delicious yet light on the tummy!
Overall Amma Haus offers a rich choice of dishes, heavily flavoured, but flavours which are different to what we are used to enjoying in North Indian cuisine! A few dishes may have an acquired taste, cuz there’s a tad bit of experimentation but never the less the conventions are well executed too. Try out the innovative dishes or stick to some fun dosas they do, either way, give these guys a try!
